OK this is my first attempt at a tactic for FM 2010.I created it in the Demo for Boro and it worked very well scoring loads of goals.Gary O'Neil in the AM role scored a hell of a lot of goals and Gerrard now is doing the same in my new Liverpool save.
Its a 4-2-3-1 formation.
GK,2x FB's, 2xCB's, 2 x box to box mf's, 2 x wingers, 1 x AM, and one poacher.
Ive now worked on it and improved it for the 10.2 patch.Ive won the World Cup easily with France and im currently top of the Championship with Boro snd my Team has Scored nearly 60 league goals after half a season.
Please give me feedback on how the tactic goes, cheers. JP.
If your losing during the match change the Strategy to Overload for the last 15-20 minutes, and if your hanging on to a lead change to Contain for the last 15-20 minutes of the match.
using it with man city and dominating with it scoring loads.I use the attacking tactic to start with home and away and just change during the match depending on the situation.well done yet again on yet more great work from you.
im stoke just used this tactic at home v portsmouth and won 2-1
however glad i was against piquionne as he got sent through clear about 5 times and couldn't hit a barn door. I ts a very high line is anyone else gettin same problem?
suppose i shouldnt moan as i won
great tactic drew , lost, drew won10 in a row just check weather if bad change passing to direct best fm yet.......addicted : riquelme great player 4-6 million
Working not bad for me, unbeaten in about 11 with my Porto team. beat Barcelona 2-1 at Nou camp and won against Sporting at home 2 games later. Fans love me. Doesn't bring me too high scores but i find myself hard to score against
Didn't work for me with Arsenal. Won only three official matches until the middle of september and all the other results were 1-1 or 2-2 draws. Last game was against Chelsea at Emirates and I lost 0-5. Now 13th in the league. Couldn't get Fabregas to perform very well either. He should play probably in the AM position but then my coaching staff says that we would be better off playing him in his normal position. In the CM he's been outperformed by both Song and Veloso. I've tried different instructions for him but still not much. After the Chelsea game I made a new attempt at creating a tactic myself. First game was a cup game against Wolves, won it on penalties(Almuni saved three) although my players had hit the woodwork 8 times at close range
Tactic works Great but i have a serious issue
i can go up 3 or 4 goals and be far ahead of the team but then all of a sudden they just fire in 5 goals in the last 20 mins of the match and omg its so annoying any advice that i could do
I'm Watford by the way and doing well but suddenly omg they just scored LOADS !
i have tried replacing tired players but it certains aspects it makes it worse
I'm playing whit Aston Villa and i played just one match with this tactic and i've notice that
counter atacks are very good , but i wanna ask JP Woody if is necesarly to use offside trap and defensive line pushed up because the opponent beat the offside trap and created many oportunitis...
it works ok, but you seem to go on bad runs of draw win draw win, then lose 2 then back to draw win again. you let in quite alot of goals and i have a absolutly quality team. in my second game using this tactic i beat the mancs 8-0 at home, im in the 2015/16 season. have won the champions league twice, the league 3 times including one treble with liverpool. i suppose thats pretty good but jp your normally better than this lol. your kind of like my assistant manager. might try your guordiola tactic but will have to get a dm 1st. keep up the good work jp
Great tactic! But I have a problem, i'm QPR and i score a lot, but I concede a lot...my defenders are SOL CAMPBELL and MAREK SUCHY, they are pretty solid defenders, i think...but i concede too much! I would appreciate some help please! Oh, and i put corners on far post, and set my two defenders to attack far post, they are scoring many goals!
Just a quick update, started with West Brom. Made a couple of changes (Deep lying playmaker suited my mildfielders so switched one of the midlfielders over and also changed the striker to advanced forward amongst other small things) Dubious start to the season but once it got going finished on 106 points with 97 goals!!
In the Prem now and sitting in 7th. Shipping almost as many goals as I'm scoring but 7th after 10 games is great.... Inconsistent though. Came back from 2-0 down after 54 mins to beat Man Utd at Old Trafford and then followed that with a 1-0 defeat at home to West Ham!!!
The attacking is amazing, but you push up the defensive line too much. Also, with your configuration, only the two CB's would be able to stop any fast strikers should there be a quick goal kick. The result would be amazing results in the first half, but terrible second halves (I'm talking 2-0 during halftime, and 2-5 full-time. Seriously, we conceded 5 goals in 45 min!)
this is top well done JP
first game with my porto team with no signings and i won 5-0 away
made a slight change in making the central attackin mid to a second striker
just hope it carries on working
I don't know for you guys but when I play away from home I always beat with 2-0 . About corners Sakho 3 goals, Silva 2 , Nesta 2, Muniea 3 goasl I'm with AC Milan. and all tih in my last 12 games. btw Pirlo is crossing.
This is brilliant, used it second game of my second Bolton season and it's taken me to 2nd, beating good teams like United and Arsenal and only just drew with Chelsea (our goal was ruled out ot win it). Now using it with Arsenal in a different save and things are going great.
Great tactic. Mixes both attacking and defensive options unlike my own tactic which was working great attack wise many games winning 4-2 5-3 etc but not as good as this for an all round result.
8 games 8 clean sheets 8 wins just beat liverpool 5-1 at the city of manchester.
Hats off to you JP from a fellow FM pro never been able to mix ultra attacking with a world class defensive record..
Ps il have to add a few screenshots to that record thread think i beat a few of yours :p.
Keep up the good work dude il be sure to follow your game story.
i must admit JP this is a wicked Tactic.. i downloaded it a while ago. and was using it with chelsea.. altered it a little.. brought the wingers down to midfield... moved one of the centres up to attacking mid.. and played with the buttons a button.. but its working Awesome dude
hay woody nice tactic though..... but i tried it with liverpool couple of games was superior when suddenly i was beaten 3-0 at home.... most of the goals was set by breakthrough ball or the something with offside trap.
This formation is Epic! Started a game with man city using this, in december now and only lost once in all competitions and had 4 draws!! its amazing!!!!
this is ace! I'm topf ot the league with arsenal unbeaten in 13 games!!! Away games or really hard home games (champions lge, ManU etc) I always set tactics to counter and this seems to reduce the crazy amount of times my offside trap is beaten. i also tried this in my QPR game with poor results, it seems the key is haveing midfielders that can run up and down the pitch for 90 mins+, something which the R's just dont have... yet! Food for thought if using this tactic for LLM.
im going to give this a try with my leeds team 1st season in the champ we aint doing gr8 after around 10 games we in the drop zone, the only key diff in formation is the attacking mid i have a DM on my current tactic
With your tactic JP I won Serie A and reached to semi-finals in the Champions League with AC Milan. But Pirlo wasn't doing very well so I changed one of the box-to-box to Deep Lying Playmaker(Pirlo) and I trained Joao Moutinho to be a Deep Lying playmaker. The results are fantastic I won the champ's league 2 times Serie A 2 times European super cup and italian supercup 2 times. 2 times because I'm playing 2012-2013. Right now I'm first in Serie A and through the 1/4 finals in champions league. Awesome tactic. Oh, I forgot I got Pato and Paloschi upfront and I just play them in matches so they don't get tired. Pato has scored 29 goals from 34 games, Paloschi 17 from 20 games. Great tactic mate. You should continue with yur great work.
yo guys, just downloaded the tactic and got fm2010 last night, will be giving it a go tonight!
I'm villa, so think the 4-2-3-1 will work well.
any tips for getting started?
I am trying this tactic with Everton on a new game. Only played a couple of friendlies against lesser teams but looking good so far. My team is:
GK - HOWARD
DR - NEILL / HEITENGA / NEVILLE
DL - BAINES
DC - YOBO
DC - DISTIN
MC - FELLAINI
MC - RODWELL
AMR - ARTETA / PIENAAR
AML - DI MARIA
AMC - CAHILL
FC - YAKUBU / JO
Setting the FBs to support and one of the MCs to deep lying playmaker (will have to make do with bilyadetinov / osman until arteta gets back) to give it a bit more balance.
Just thrashed Nottingham Forest 7-0!!! Looking good
So far in pre season with FC København (FC Copenhagen)
No new signings, except my usual staff bias (i like to max the training over new players first season).
Rijeka (cro) - FC København 1-5
Zagreb (cro) - FC København 1-4
Frem (1st div) - FC København 0-5
FC København - Standard Liége 2-1
Champions League Qual 2 1st leg:
FC København - Debrecen (Hungary) 3-0
Premier Division:
FC Nordsjælland - FC København 1-4
(Signed in Arnold Bruggink 1,3mill £) (sold Jesper Grønkjær 2,1mill £ (AC Milan))
Champions League Qual 2 2nd leg:
Debrecen - FC København 2-1 (3-5 on aggregate)
Blame the loss on selling Grønkjær the day before the match, and not being able to field in Arnold Bruggink (leaving me without a inner midfielder as Vingaard had to be moved to the wing).
Premier Division:
FC København - FC Midtjylland 4-1 (no goal by bruggink tho :p)
So far looking good, few defensive issues, but considering the goals are plenty full theres little to go for not just adjusting as fit.
i have kept the formation but i changed the tactics a bit.
i use control instead of attacking. and i changed the full backs into a more attacking role. works much better for me. and i also use man marking.
I have fernando gago in my sunderland team, should i change his role to ball winning mid fielder/ deep lying play maker or leave it as box to box midfielder?
This tactic does work with patch 10.3. I have just done a season with Real Madrid and won the double losing in the quater final of the ch.league. Bear in mind that Madrid are a very fast team with some tall defenders though and that may be why it worked.
This tactic is pretty average with to many faults and pretty much a gung-ho all out attack
I was amazed you did not play with a sweeper keeper considering how high the defensive line plays and also the defending corners is shambles due to the zonal marking and no one defending the posts.
Also i think the wingers would play better as inside forwards to give the lone striker more support
Obviously works for some off you so it cant be that bad i just prefer more balanced formations and also not all tactics suit different teams
downloaded the tactic on my chelsea save very pleased, after 8 games 7 wins and 1 draw away to CSKA moscow and a away win against arsenal. well done JP WOODY
Hi JP. First off, really nice tactic, tried a couple of different ones but I like this the most, even over your own other tactics! Only problem, if you can call it that, im having is my Striker just wont score! My AMC is doing fine picking up the strikers slack, is this just the way the tactic works, which is fine btw! Or should I change the strikers role abit or...Should i stop complaining about a clearly awesome tactic lol
Kossam: Im gutted......Honsest,if you cant download it thats your problem not mine, over 14 thousand other people have managed.Try changing your Internet explorer.
Jib: Stick with it mate,i find good all round strikers work best, good heading and finishing. If you change the tactic you will risk it not working.I used it with France and won the World Cup and Henry (my striker) got 10 goals in 9 qualifying games.Using with Boro now and O'Conner has 5 in 9,thats pretty good.
If I want to download the new tactic for 10.2, is it just so to download the file which is in the green box above! I´m a bit confused because it says on the file: september 2009 and at that time the new patch hasn´t been released? Or is it the right one with the new improvements....
played with everton and noticed that the lone striker is a little isolated whereas long shots kept coming from the central mids.
therefore, i changed one of the box to box mid's (marouanne fellaini) instructions a little, tuning the long shots to rarely and through balls to often. the poacher has also been changed to target man with attack duty and retrained tim cahill to play as a target man. worked very well for me, with the amount of long shots cut down and the striker became more involved in the team's attacks, setting up the midfielders and wingers to score while scoring some himself.
on the overall, this is a good attacking tactic (kudos to jp) and for people who are struggling to get their strikers to be involved, you guys can try what i did
Cheers cmh. Personally if im going to use Box to box Mfs i like to use 2,they work well together and you will notice thatt when one bombs forward the other will stay back.Im going to do more tests with the striker because its one position i feel could be improved to get the very best from him. Thanks for the test
@federico9. his tactics arent shit. im sure lots of people who have used it will agree with me as well. what team are you using and how many matches have you played which gave you the conclusion that this tactic is poor? or are you expecting instant success with it?
@FEDERICO9: No offence mate but your a prat. The tactics work billiant for me.Even if they dont work for you is there any need to be so rude about it.JP is just trying to help people, its not as if the cost you anyting to download, what have you ever done to help anyone? Your a typical noob, take take take and give fuck all back.
jp wood this work great with chelsea just hammered liverpool 5-1 away its simply the best tactic ever and all this in my first season and am in the final of the carling cup top of the prem only 1 point do behind man utd still in the champions league the only bad thing this season is am out of the fa cup to west ham lol
@Anyone who attacked me. I used it with the same borough squad and did exactly as J.P says. SURPRISE IT DIDN'T WORK. Don't be so gullable and credit good fortune to someone who doesn't deserve it. And I don't submit tactics as I use different ones to combat different teams weakness. Needless to say after a poor season I went back to it.
If it works for you well done, you've made a medicore tactic work for you, and you should probably give J.P some advice. Not the other way around.
for attacking i get at least 25 goals each year from corners
u need a good corner taker about over 15 on corners
strong centre back must be brave and good headers
challenge keeper other cb attack from deep both strikers attack from deep 1 winger attack near post and set ur corners to 6 yard box
cm or dm or both lurk outside area
the trick is only have 1 player challenging keeper u get loads of goals
@gza-ob1 Thanks for the corner tactics, ill try the defensive ones,i dont really need the attacking ones as the current set up already gets about 30 goals a season and possibly more with a good corner taker and stron CB attacking the far post.
Used this tactic in my first season with Real Madrid and it was ideal for a team of that standard, fast wingers, a tall centre back. Won the League and the cup in first season.
I don't recommend this tactic for lower league teams though.
Does this work for patch 10.3?
