genunine shame, was undermined by the board towards the end and no one deserves that kind of treatment. just heard some fans want di canio. you want to replace him with someone who has ho managerial experience and is only just doing his badges. good choice oO)
I think its a shame to be honest. Under the circumstances I think he did a very good job whilst having to cope with all the **** from the owners. (All players up for sale, blasting them in public etc etc the list goes on) To be honest he looks like a top bloke and I feel sorry for him. First season when he had no boardroom issues - West Ham came mid table. Now with dickheads for owners they are near the bottom....
If he was not such a nice person in general he would have gone a long time ago. He is a legend but from what I've seen he doesn't have the mean steak inside of him like top managers do.
I think the general consensus is that he's a top bloke and all round nice guy, but not an amazing manager. Even if scott parker said so...? The board took the **** out of him and I for one feel sorry for the bloke. Even if the day he took carragher for a walk in the corner of the pitch is still scarred into the back of my head.
Harsh but predictable. Injuries and boardroom meltdown have ruined there season and csot him his job. The new guys clearly want there own man in charge. I hope we see more of Zola.
i think Maybe Paul Lambert might be in with a shout, he is the kinda manager the owners like, Young, Ambitious and british, Steve Bruce when he went to birmingham comes to mind,
Shame, a nice bloke like Zola got undermined by the Owners, he did a great job last season, you wonder about Steve Clarke's position at the club now. I think they will go for Avram which would be a shame because he is a great bloke as well, Club don't deserve either of them.
Could really really backfire as the team made it pretty well known that they really liked Zola and I even saw one player (forgot his name) on match of the day specifically say that he was unhappy with the comments from the owners.
It's stupid because they're the only owners who make public statements every day or so and they could so easily not and the club would be better for it. Hope they clear off soon as West Ham are a club I like and these mugs are ruining their image. Zola would do well at a top half Championship club, alot like Martinez at Swansea, and then I think he can have another crack at the Premier League.
