Want to play a 31231 formation with my Swansea team but I'm unsure of what roles + duties each position should have. As well as what stats would be best for each position and how the team should try and play

ST
AML - AMC - AMR
MCL - MCR
DM
CB - CB - CB
GK

If anyone has any experience of playing 3 at the back or if any wants to suggest what I should use I would be grateful :)

i've done with 3 - 5 - 2 formations using Sampdoria , the three - man in Defense is not CB , 1 Limited Defender and 2 FB , but i also use 2 DMF , and if you want to play with those tactics : ( 3 - 1 - 2 -3 - 1 )

Poacher(a)
IF(a) - AM(s) - IF(a)
DLP(s) - BWM(s)
A(d)
BPD(d) - LD(d) - BPD(d)
SK

that's only my view points

I've seen 3 in defence formations work really well. For me its usually a result of the wide players dominating, or doing what they are supposed to do very well, i.e cover for defence & attack.

The one i used for a short while had 3 CB's but one cover who always drops behind the two wide CB's. I'm sure there are lots of tactics to download and compare in the tactic section :)
