Martinez leaves Wigan

Roberto_Martinez.jpg

Roberto Martinez today has resigned as manager of Wigan Athletic. No specific reason has been announced either by him or the club but speculation and rumors are showing that he has resigned over an alleged bets placed on his teams matches towards the end of last season. A statement has been released by Wigan Athletic on the resignation of Roberto Martinez, "We are sad to see Martinez (Roberto) leave us today. He has done an excellent service to the club and stabilized the club in more ways than one. We are currently looking for a new manager and have had many applications towards the position and the new manager will be announced in the next couple of days."

Rumors are also going round over who the new manager is. Leaked reports says that it is one of the back room staff who will become the new Wigan Athletic manager.

*Plus if I get sacked the story will continue and will use the club I join*

Wigan Athletic today have announced their new manager. Martyn Brown has taken charge of Wigan Athletic on a 2-year-deal getting £17,250 per week. David Whelan has also given Martyn Brown £5,000,000 to acquire new players and given him his full backing towards player acquisition and sales.

So all the rumors of a back room staff getting the position was true. Martyn was a youth coach before getting the managers position. After getting all of his coaching badges at the young age of 25 he was signed by Wigan Athletic as a youth coach and has helped people like Callum McManaman improve their overall game and push for a Wigan starting XI place.

Brown Makes Signings!

Martyn Brown has already started to splash the cash at the DW Stadium with 3 players incoming and 2 leaving. The 2 players leaving the DW Stadium are Shaun Maloney on loan to Blackpool for season (Loan Fee = £250,000) and Hendry Thomas leaving for Udinese in a £2,000,000 deal.

3 players incoming to Martyn Brown's squad are Nick Powell from Crewe (£700,000), Adrian Aldrete from Morelia (£2,500,000) and Alberto Medina from Chivas (£2,500,000).
