How to play FM12 offline?

This year FM12 has to be activated with steam which I have done. But sometimes there are times when I'm out and about when I have no internet connection and I want to play FM12. However, unlike FM11 it seems that there is no way of playing the game unless you're connected to the internet. Is there anyway of getting around this.

nb: I have a disc version of the game which I have activated via steam

connect to the internet.

open steam.

click the steam button top left and then click go offline.

you will be told that steam will restart itself in offline mode, press ok.

steam will restart in offline mode.

open FM.

Never close/restart steam again and you will be able to play whether you are connected to the internet or not.

Make sure the game is fully updated before trying to play it in offline mode.

Hmmm. Go online and try this:
Right click FM12 > Properties > Local Files > Verify integrity of game cache

Then try running in offline mode.
