Getting crash dump error, error was encountered and the application will close

Getting the error file generated in C:\Documents and Settings\SI\crash dump etc, etc. I just purchased FM 12 from amazon (download version) and installed it through steam (did that automatically). I've tried the verifying local files thru steam, i removed steam and FM 12 and reinstalled it, i removed FM12 and steam from registry. I'm not sure what else I can do. I'm not using any mods yet.

I deleted the crash dumps folder. That didn't do anything.

Hmm, I tried those things on your list Jak, still doesn't work. I also reformatted and started fresh with WinXP and I still get same error. Any ideas?
