Cursor flickering

Hi all.

Was having problems with the old "serious error" thing yesterday, so I verified and defraged and left it overnight. Tried the game again today and although it's working, it's unusually sluggish and the cursor on the game screen keeps flickering. Anyone know how I can sort this out ?.
