Getting the best out of gotze

I just bought gotze for my united side, I am in the second season and Played 4-4-2 wih pushed up wingers last season, I was wondering if I need to change formation to get the best out of him and play a CAM or will he be fine if he plays Attacking advanced play maker at centre mid? ^^)

Hes best at the CAM as Advanced playmaker with lots of creative freedom, and allowed to roam

CAM Roaming, lots of creative freedom, cuts in during wide play. dribble often, attacking mentality, long shot rarely.
