It's because the DM of the opposition is giving players too long to shoot.
If the goals are against you i suggest having your DM playing deeper to soak up the space players are shooting from to cut down the amount of long-range goals.

Surely your players are just better than the oppositions midfield and they can't pick them up, hence they get more time on the ball and score more from long-range.
I don't find that i score too much from long range...Score a fair bit but that's with players like Gerrard and Hamsik.
well tbh I think its a bug, I play sneijder in the midfield because it is not rare at all seing them score one or two 40 yard goals per game, its a bit too much
