football manager isn't working

it goes to the stat screen as normal but when i load a game the resolution changes and it comes up with errors like XML passing error 'not well-formed (invalid token) at line 1 of profile0.xml'
and fm just disapeared and if i load it again it says 'error, football manager is already running'
i have tried uninstalling it and installing it again but it wont work
i am using steam btw

Try playing in windowed mode or check your monitor's resolution then set the game's resolution to the one your monitor is currently using.
