A tribute to a Welshman with a vision. Gary Speed a true cult hero for many, a legend for some, one to be remembered for all. As a salute to Gary Speed's dedication to the welsh national team I've devised a challenge for people to try to emulate and surpass Gary's vision. Bring Glory to Wales, start with the foundations, a solid youth team. So, I thought that I'd make a spin off from the San Marino Challenge. This one requires a little less dedication, since Swansea are already in the Prem, and Cardiff are in the Championship. However, The main aspect to this Challenge is to harvest young welsh talent and turn the national side into a contender. Now, Let's all think for a moment about the Barca team, That is a perfect example of home grown talent. Emulate that and bring pride to Wales!

Rules:
1. Manager To be Welsh - 50% point reduction is enforced on none Welsh managers.
2. No use of Genie-Scout
3. No use of Editor

* = Can only be achieved if you do not start as the Welsh national manager as well.
* = If your club achieves any of these while boasting an 70% welsh squad your points will be doubled.
* = If you gain promotion you are entitled to HALF to points awarded to winning the league you are being promoted from.

Oh thanks for the credit Faulky, wasnt expecting that.

I myself will find time later to do this challenge, I'm currently doing the San Marino one, but I love the idea of a welsh challenge.

Alright, I may sound as a ******, but are you only allowed to buy Welsh players, or are you just "encouraged" to do so?

You don't have to do that if you don't want, You need to establish the club first and improve their youth facils, to do that you need a squad worthy of winning cups and leagues etc. Establish a competitive club however you may. You just get the multiplier if your club has 70% make up of welshies.

Simpley put: Buy whoever you want, doesn't have to be welsh.

Post a SS of your starting squad, so i can add you to the table > remember, if you start as cardiff you get a 10 point bonus!
 
like it a lot, maybe you could add Wrexham and Newport County as "hard" level ;)

used to do this with Swansea in CM 03-04, they started in 4th tier if my memory serves. Welsh clubs playing in England also competed in a Welsh Cup back then, in the end our club was playing about 80+ games per season between league, english cups, welsh cup and continental cups, it was crazy

Would like to start this maybe with Wrexham, unfortunately I'm addicted to my San Marino save ;)
 
Quite enjoyed my Cardiff save on 11, so I'm going as them again. Posting a SS as soon as the game has finished loading.

I like that addition, Yeah. I can add additional point totals if people were wanting to play as Wrexham or Newport. I wanted to make it a little less taxing than the San Marino challenge (aka time consuming) but if people were willing to go to those clubs I could certainly add some additional bonus'!
 
Choko, Keep me posted with transfers and who you sell etc. I'm interested in that, as I am playing as cardiff as well. I sold quite a few first team players to make way for some youth and got a few players in on loan.

If any one takes up this challenge, I'd like it if you were to add me to steam, spinelesscoma, so that we can chat during game-time as well!

Well, I ain't buying much with only a £750k budget. Trying to loan Jay Spearing, Daniel Sturridge, Danny Rose and Danny Wilson. Just bought QPR's Heidar Helguson. Seems like a decent addition to my squad. Now all I need is get rid of some oldies, to make room for some younger players.

I don't normally do challenges, I might give this one a go though. :)
