A New Vision

After Tottenham’s failure to reach the Champions league Chairman Daniel Levy has set about dramatically changing the way in which the club operates.

The financially astute Chairman identified that due to the financial powers of other clubs in the league such as Man city and Chelsea the club would not be able to compete for world class players. With this in mind he felt that the only way the club could progress was to start producing their own young talent.

Levy stated that the new manager would only be allowed to sign one player per season and he must be English and aged 17 or under. The new manger must therefore look to bring through players from the club’s academy to improve the squad.

With this long-term vision outlined, Levy set about appointing a young manager who could set about producing success with the club on a shoestring budget.

Once appointed manager of Tottenham the board agreed to a number of my demands in order to fulfil Levy’s vision.

Leyton Orient 0-8 Tottenham: Bale (5), Lennon, Defoe and Scott Cuthbert OG.
Preston 0-3 Tottenham: Kranjcar, Dawson and Kaboul.
Pachuca 0-4 Tottenham: Defoe, van der Vaart, Kaboul and Renta OG.
Tottenham 3-0 PSG: Dawson, van der Vaart and Jallet OG.
San Jose 0-2 Tottenham: Adebayor and Bale.

Pre-season was a huge success. We didn’t concede a single goal and averaged four goals a game. The level of opposition was fairly low and therefore it is not something I’m going to get carried away with, although the 3-0 win against PSG was particularly pleasing.

After looking at my squad during pre-season I have set myself the traget of qualifying for the Champions League and winning a cup.

Tottenham 4-1 Swansea: Adebayor (3) and dos Santos.

View attachment 254016

The league season got off to dominate 4-1 win over Swansea. This result was one which I expected with Swansea being a newly promoted team, however an Adebayor hat-trick was particularly pleasing. The result was somewhat marred by the injuries to Kaboul and Lennon who are both out for 5-6 weeks.

Wigan 1-0 Tottenham

View attachment 254017

Going into this game I received an injury to Kyle Walker, with that and the injuries I incurred during previous matches I was forced to play a make shift back four of Assou Ekotto-rb, Huddlestone- cb and Bale-lb with Dawson being the only defender playing their natural position. Even with this in mind I was extremely disappointed to lose the game, especially considering it was to a Gary Caldwell free-kick. However Wigan had the better chances and deserved the victory.

Tottenham 4-1 Man City: Modric, Kranjcar, van der Vaart and dos Santos.

View attachment 254018

10 Minutes into the game I received an injury to Ekotto which meant that I had no alternative but to play Livermore at right back (with the same makeshift defence from the previous game). From that moment I thought Man City were going to dominate the game however it was us that had more clear cut chances and in the 21st minute Modric put us ahead with a sublime finish from the edge of the box. Just before half-time Man City equalised through a Tevez goal. Going into half-time I thought I missed the opportunity to get a win over City but in the second half we came out the starting blocks quickly and scored via Kranjcar. After that the result never looked in doubt and we continued to dominate with van der Vaart and dos Santos both getting on the score sheet.

Primarily for his performance against Man City. He took control of the game and as well as scoring the penalty he assisted twice in a game where he was always a constant threat.

Wolves 5-2 Tottenham: Dawson (2)

Absolute nightmare! A result which I was not expecting in the slightest. The scoreline did not reflect what was a evenly contested game. However with the quality in my squad I expect to win this game against a team fighting against relegation. In future games I must ensure I do not slip up against sides I’m expected to heavily beat, especially if I want to meet my target of Champions league football.

Tottenham 2-1 Fc Twente (Europa League): Adebayor and Livermore

View attachment 254291

I would consider Twente to be the strongest opposition in my Europa league group. Therefore beating them in the first group game was a big positive. The game itself was evenly contested just like the previous game against wolves, however this time luck was on my side and I managed to get the win. This win will give me the opportunity to blood some young players in the next games in which I will be resounding favourites.

Chelsea 3-0 Tottenham

View attachment 254293

In the big London derby I was completely outclassed and the 3-0 score-line was one was I consider being just. Chelsea took advantage of Huddlestone’s relative lack of experience as a CB and my team struggled with Chelsea’s high pressure whenever I was on the ball.

Blackburn 0-2 Tottenham (League Cup): van der Vaart and Defoe

View attachment 254295

With Ledley King returning and making his first appearance of the season my team began to show the quality and level of performance I expect from them. The defence was a lot more stable and only conceded 1 shot on target. After taking the lead in the 4th minute we were in complete control. Towards the end of the game Blackburn began to throw men forward. I looked to respond by breaking quickly by bringing on Lennon and Defoe. This combination was a constant threat and in the 4th minute of injury time it produced the goods with Lennon providing a simple tap-in for Defoe.

Tottenham 2-2 Liverpool: Dawson and Adebayor

View attachment 254297

We started off extremely well, creating 3 chances before Dawson scored the opener from a corner within 10 minutes. During the match we were the dominate team however due to an injury sustained to Bale Huddlestone was forced to play LB, Liverpool were exploiting this and looked a threat whenever attacking down my left-hand side. Both goals which I conceded came from crosses down that side and going into half-time 2-1 down was something I did not expect, especially with us having the better chances. After half-time we started to apply more and more preassure and on the 59th minute it was us attacking down the right hand side and lennon played in Adebayor, who calmly slotted it past the keeper. After the equaliser the game became a bit flat and no side really tested either keeper in search of a winner.

Rosenborg 0-3 Tottenham (Europa League): Coulibaly, King and Kranjcar.

View attachment 254298

I used the opportunity of playing a much weaker team by handing starts to 2 young prospects, Coulibaly and Gomelt. Within 2 minutes of his first start for the club Coulibaly got on the scoresheet with a cool finish from just inside the box. Rosenborg never really tested Gomes in goal and in the second-half we increased the scoreline when King headed in a Kranjcar corner. Kranjcar then capped an impressive display by blasting the ball into the back of the net from inside the area.

Overview

This month I suffered a major setback in the league and I will need to find form in order to secure Champions League football next season. By securing two positive results in the Europa League I will be able to priorities the league to ensure my team doesn’t slip up again. I’m expecting October to be a positive month for spurs with the majority of the defence returning in time for the second league game of the month.

Despite playing with a make-shift back four Dawson played extremely well and even managed to score three goals. Without him at the back I fear I would have conceded a lot more goals which is worrying as I conceded far too many as it is.

Good story mate, I enjoyed my tottenham save but was a network game and mate lost interest so we stopped. I shall be following this.

October

Sunderland 0-2 Tottenham : Dawson and Adebayor

View attachment 254725

The month got off to a good start with a win where we were never troubled at the back. Sunderland were restricted to long shots which was never going to trouble Gomes. Dawson scored via a Kranjcar corner and Adebayor scored after placing a shot past Westwood. Although we managed to get 2 goals I was disappointed by the lack of clear-cut chances we actually made.

Tottenham 1-2 Aston Villa: Lennon

View attachment 254726

Defending set pieces is something which I need to look at after conceding 2 goals to James Collins. Extremely disappointing as I’m dropping points in games I didn’t expect to.

Tottenham 0-2 Dnipro (Europa League)

View attachment 254727

I used the opportunity to play a few youth players, however the team also had a fair few experienced players so I was not happy with the result. Dnipro carved my defence open on a few occasions and could of quiet easily conceded a few more goals.

Tottenham 2-1 QPR: Adebayor (2)

View attachment 254728

To put it simply Adebayor bossed this game. He was a constant threat to the QPR defence and if anything he could of bagged a few more goals. QPR managed to knick a goal at the end with a Wright-Phillips header (who would have thought it?) but that was the only time they really tested the goalkeeper.

Tottenham 4-0 Everton (League Cup): van der Vaart (2), Bale and Dawson

View attachment 254729

The first half was fairly even and dull a game however we managed to take the lead from a long distance shott by van de Vaart. The second half was completely different, a half-time team talk inspired the team to take the game to Everton and they were unable to cope. The clean sheet was particularly pleasing after not having one since the start of the month.

Blackburn 1-0 Tottenham

View attachment 254730

Not a very exciting match. Both defences coped with the attacking threat each team had to offer. The game was summed up perfectly by Gael Givet being awarded man of the match.

Overview

Another very disappointing month and with Man united and Arsenal to come next month we must start to hit form quickly, otherwise the chance of getting a Champions league place will become ultimately impossible.

Got many assists this month and laid on countless opportunities for his teammates.

November

Dnipro 3-1 Tottenham (Europa League): Lennon

View attachment 254735

I experimented in this game by playing a high line which was completely taken apart by the pace of Dnipro’s striker. This is something which clearly I will not follow through with especially with the pace of Welbeck, Hernandez and Walcott to come in the following games, I would get battered.

Tottenham 2-1 Bolton
: Bale and Parker

View attachment 254736

The game was over after 11 minutes with early goals from Bale and Parker. Bale scored from a direct free-kick and Parker scored a scorcher from 30 yards. After that we were pressing for more goals and hit the woodwork 3 times however we were ucouldn't find the back of the net. This game was prior to a midweek game against Man Utd so a few players were rested.

Man Utd 4-3 Tottenham: Adebayor (3)

View attachment 254737

I have mixed views about this game. My defence was non-existent however my attacking players performed admirably. Adebayor was on fire and produced the highlight of the game taking it past 2 players before calmly slotting it past De Gea.

Tottenham 1-0 Arsenal : Adebayor

View attachment 254738

Easily the best result of the season so far. Arsenal were unable to unlock our defence, creating very few chances. Keeping a clean sheet against a team of arsenal’s quality was pleasing. We had a fair few chances however our players clearly were not wearing their shooting boots however luckily Adebayor managed to finish one of the chances he had.

Norwich 0-2 Tottenham: Adebayor and Defoe

View attachment 254739

Yet another good result for us. The defence again looked in good shape and kept another clean sheet. Adebayor continued his fine form for the month making it 5 goals in five games for him. I used a new formation (4-3-3) to try and bring on more attacking threat in the form of Defoe and it worked.

Fulham 3-4 Tottenham: King, Defoe, van der Vaart and dos Santos

View attachment 254740

I continued with the 4-3-3 formation and it worked from an attacking sense however conceding 3 goals is not something I liked, especially against a team of Fulham’s quality. This was an end-to-end game but luckily my strikers were able to finish when it mattered.

FC Twente 2-1 Tottenham (Europa League): King

View attachment 254741

This result knocks me out the Europa League group stage. We did not deserve to get anything less than a win however Twente had luck on their side. All three of our strikers had an off day and despite having chance after chance they failed to hit the back of the net. Our defence limited Twente to 2 clear-cut chances and unfortunately for us they buried them.

Overview

Getting knocked out the Europa League was a disappointment however it was not a competition I prioritised. Even though I fielded weaker teams in the competition I felt the teams I put out should of competed better. Performances in the league have improved which was pleasing, I just hope it’s not too late to come into contention.

Tottenham 1-1 Everton: Defoe

View attachment 254882

Not the way I wanted to start the month. The game was even and a draw was the right result. In this game the team took too many shots from distance when better opportunities were open to them.

Tottenham 0-0(4-3p) Fulham (League Cup Quarter Final)

View attachment 254883

A big win which takes us into the semi-final of the league cup. We looked comfortable throughout the game and never looked like getting any other result than a win. The lack of goals is starting to worry me as playing I play an attacking formation and therefore I expect more.

Newcastle 2-1 Tottenham: Defoe

View attachment 254884

Another unnecessary slip up in the league. The game was a close contest with no side deserving to win. Scoring 2 goals in 3 games now is unacceptable, especially considering it’s not against teams competing for the top four.

Tottenham 6-0 Rosenborg (Europa League): Asen OG, van der Vaart, Gallas, Parker, Coulibaly and dos Santos

View attachment 254885

A result that doesn’t really matter considering the level of opposition and the fact that I’m already knocked out the cup.

Tottenham 2-0 West Brom: Defoe and Dawson

View attachment 254886

The first league win of the month and also a much needed one. We bossed the entire game but yet again my strikers (apart from Defoe) failed to produce the goods, missing a fair few chances.

Stoke 1-0 Tottenham

View attachment 254887

Another disappointing performance in the league which has left me wondering if we will be able to catch up due to the fact that we're dropping points we shouldn’t be. Yet again it’s another game we didn’t deserve to lose but yet again the lack of goals cost me.

Swansea 0-2 Tottenham: Adebayor (2)

View attachment 254888

Adebayor FINALLY scores after a month long goal drought. It was a faily dull match with many shots from distance however when we managed to work our way into the area with took our chances.

Tottenham 0-0 Wigan

View attachment 254889

More dropped points. Wigan were unable to register a shot on target however like many games this month we failed to take our chances and therefore it was another chance lost to pick up what should be considered 3 easy points.

Overview

A massively disappointing month which has left my target of Champions league qualification extremely unlikely. The lack of goals was something which was extremely disappointing and with big games next month I must ensure the I don’t continue this months form into next month or my season will be as good as over.
Due to the terrible performance this month no one stood out to get the player of the month award.

Tottenham 3-0 Oldham (FA Cup 3rd round) : Huddlestone, Coulibaly and Dawson

View attachment 254893

A dominate win but one expected against lower league opposition. I used the game to rotate some players and they delivered by not conceding a shot on target. With champions league qualification looking less likely I will start to priorities cup games once I’m against harder opposition.

Tottenham 1-2 Man United (League Cup semi-final) : Adebayor

View attachment 254894

I was unhappy to concede 2 away goals especially seeing we were able to limit the amount of clear-cut chances which they had. Although the tie is still in the balance with United only holding the slightest of leads.

Man City 1-3 Tottenham: Modric, Defoe and Lennon

View attachment 254895

For once we were the lucky team! Man city had chance after chance however Gomes was having the game of his life. Going into half time 1-0 up was a bonus however we were pegged back straight away as Aguero hit an instant reply in the 49th minute. From that moment Man City began to press more and more but in their search for the winner we were able to hit them on the break twice and win the game.

Tottenham 4-2 Wolves: Sandro, Adebayor, Foley OG and Kaboul

View attachment 254896

We were able to get our revenge for such an appalling result in our previous meeting against Wolves. Although the scoreline may suggest otherwise the game was hardly end-to-end however we were able to take our chances (especially from set pieces) to secure the deserved win.

Tottenham 2-1 Chelsea: Kaboul and Coulibaly

View attachment 254897

This was another close game. Kaboul gave us the lead via a near post corner taken by Bale. Within 10 minutes Chelsea had equalised and Kaboul turned from hero to villain conceding an own goal. With Defoe not playing well I took the risk of subbing on youngster Coulibaly 10 minutes from time and the gamble worked with Coulibaly popping up inside the box the lash in the winner.

Man United 2-5 (AET) Tottenham (League Cup Semi-Final 2nd leg): Modric, Livermore, Adebayor (2) and Kaboul

View attachment 254898

This was a thriller. Going into half-time we were 2-0 up and looking comfortable however that all changed in the second half. Man United scored two goals in quick succession which meant we were heading out the cup. From that moment the game was open with both sides looking to score. With 3 minutes left Bale played a delightful ball over the top of United’s defence which Adebayor coolly controlled. With De Gea coming out of his goal looking to gather the ball Adebayor rounded the keeper and finished into the empty net. In extra time United ran out of gas and we won the tie thanks to goals from Adebayor and Kaboul.

*We have been drawn against Bolton in the final

Peterborough 1-2 Tottenham (FA Cup 4th round): Coulibaly (2)

View attachment 254900

This game was closer than I expected or wanted it to be. Coulibaly’s pace was a constant threat to their defence and he should have easily ended up with 3 or 4 goals. The lack of goals led to a nervy ending to the game but we were able to see it out.

Overview

Winning every single game was fantastic, especially taking into account the level of opposition we faced. The complete change in form was particularly surprising and these great results have left us with a chance of getting a Champions League spot. Progressing to the league cup final was the highlight and with Bolton being our opponents in the final I expect to win the cup.

Liverpool 1-2 Tottenham : Kaboul and Defoe

View attachment 254941

We started off the month well with a tough game at Anfield. Liverpool took the lead in the 16th minute. We struck back just before half time with a Kaboul header. The second half started off slowly but in the 69th minute the game changed, Luis Enrique was sent off. After the dismissal I changed the teams tactics for a more attack minded approach which paid off with Defoe scoring the winner in the 73rd minute.

Tottenham 1-1 Sunderland: Dawson

View attachment 254942

Our win streak finally came to an end against Sunderland. I seem to play better against the bigger teams and therefore I may need to develop a tactic to use against the smaller teams as my current one clearly isn’t successful.

Aston Villa 3-1 Tottenham: Gomelt

View attachment 254943

My unbeaten run has come to an end and unsurprisingly it was against a smaller team. Villa dominated the game and my defence looked unable to cope with Bent. My team currently have a lot of injuries and therefore the subs bench is only filled up by 4 players at the moment.

View attachment 254946

The inconsistencies in my squad have now returned. Despite playing a fairly weak squad they still had enough quality in there to beat Swindon so I’m extremely disappointed with the result especially as it means I have to play a replay with an injury hit squad.

Q.P.R 2-4 Tottenham: Huddlestone, Adebayor, Defoe and Kaboul

View attachment 254947

Although the game was played 3 days before the League cup final I was forced to play a strong team due to the lack of available players to rotate. QPR had the better chances however we had the greater volume of attacks and our players were more clinical.

Bolton 0-1 Tottenham (League Cup Final) : Adebayor

We did it! My 1st trophy with Spurs. The game itself was close with Bolton twice hitting the woodwork nevertheless we also had chances to extend the lead.

This month saw the end of my challenge for a Champions league spot. The lack of goals was evident with us failing to score in 5 games. One positive is that all the big teams have been knocked out the FA Cup however with me appearing to do better against the bigger teams is that really an advantage? The idea of doing the double will definitely help me get over the fact that I didn’t qualify for the Champions League. Once again a completely shocking month and therefore no player deserved the player of the month award.

Louis Hughes is an 4.5* potential defensive midfielder. Although I was happy that someone with such high potential joined the club it was not a position I needed with sandro fairly young as it is. ALthough he has potential to be world class and with the league season as good as over for me I may give a few starts.

Due to the challenge I set I can't go out and sign anyone apart from 1 English 16 year old per season however I have a few defenders coming back from loan that I think will be able to help out.

Although I agree I have let in way too many goals I don't feel the defence is the problem. I think my tactics may not suit the team and therefore I plan to develop new ones during pre-season.

Yh bassong's pace maybe something which the defence is lacking. I also wouldn't mind testing Caulker and seeing how much he can improve.

A terrible month in which we played 5 and lost 3. Even when we did win it was by the smallest of margins, penalties and a 1-0 victory over Newcastle. The league season ended abysmally and I’m actually embarrassed in where the team has finished. The only good point about this month was that we managed to get into the FA Cup final against West Brom however with my performances this month can we turn things around and win the FA Cup?
