Located in the South Netherlands, Oss is a city with just over 58,000 inhabitants. Most famously, the birthplace of Holland and ex-Manchester United striker, Ruud van Nistelrooy. This is the setting for my story, this is the home of F.C. Oss.
Not a great club by any respects, Oss is one of those teams on the periphery of Dutch football. Their only honor coming in 2011 with lifting the Dutch Topklass Zondag (Dutch 3rd division). They fight to maintain their professional status and exist within a nation that loves it's football. They fight to belong, they fight for a dream, a dream I will realize.
My name is Hamel Jannsen, this is the tale of how I tried to turn a struggling Dutch light-weight, into a World-class European giant. This is their story.
