Apparently, James will stay at Villa Park and turn his back on Man City unless he moves in the next 48 hours, leaving Stephen Ireland to the reserves team.

Not what i heard...

I heard he's either moving to Schalke or City.

It is possible, but there's been very little talk from City in the last few days, and that has obviously riled Milner.

Sky sports say the deal is done to man city with ireland going the other way subject to medical

Typical Sky ****, Mancini has said it will be completed with in 36hours. subject to a few things.

Sky speculating **** again

sky sports have announced in the last hour that man city have agreed a figure with aston villa, with ireland moving in the other direction, its all sorted, each player just need medicals and thats it

A Sky reporter spoke to Milner as he was leaving the Villa training ground and Milner confirmed he was on his way to Manchester.

Was never in doubt really.

Hopefully this increases our chances of beating them on Sunday.

Man City close in on Milner deal

Manchester City hope to complete the signing of Aston Villa midfielder James Milner within the next 24 hours.

biggest mistake of Milner's career imo. he isn't going to get much playing time at city and certainly isn't going to get in the team ahead of Silva, Barry, Toure etc. he is going there for one thing and one thing only. the money

or he could be going to play with some of the best players in the world and compete with them and make himself better, or he could be going because Man City have alot of ambition and have more chance of breaking the top 4 than any other team. Its not all about the money.

Give the guy a break, maybe he just wants to further his career, maybe he is excited by the fact he will be in the same team as some of the best footballers in the world, not everything in football is about money, people just use it as an excuse, footballers are ambitious, he will be noticed at City, if he can make it into that squad then he can make it anywhere. When will people stop using money as an excuse, like somebody said on another thread - If Milner went to United he would still not play, yet everyone would say what a great move it was, and he certainly wouldn't be a money grabber - I personally don't like City but they have great players so fair play to him.
