So many of you may well remember my previous Limerick story on FM13 which was probably one of my most successful saves on a football manager game, I won multi domestic trophies and became a european force with the likes of David ***, Dominik Rzatkowski and Tom Nangle.

I hope to emulate that success in this follow up story or maybe even surpass it with the fact that im starting it now not in the end of August. You may remember that i was going to try and do a long term save with Northern Irish side Tobermore United but after back to back promotions got sacked by the new owners after a takeover.

Here is my original Limerick FC story for those interested in the story where i played around 13 seasons.

Right so lets see what has changed with the side since last season.

So the club is in a much better place than last season as in real life they got promoted and moved into a much larger stadium that they can never hope to fill! In 13 seasons our attendance for Champions League games against the likes of Man Utd never went over around 16,000.

You will remember quite a few of the players with a lot staying at Limerick including the likes of Joe Gamble, Stephen Folan and David Oleary and thats not to mention my super wingers Bossekota and Galbraith! Oh im getting into this already, it feels good to be back.

I think in my last FM game the player he most reminded me of was Craig Gardner a bit of a tough tackling midfield who got sent off a lot but also could smash a 30 yard super goal.

Club Legend, should beat the record appearances for Limerick in our first season and that record lasted for almost 10 years until my youth intake star took the record.


Squad Depth

So the squads a lit thin on the ground at the moment and the key area to bring in is upfront i think with Dominic Foley missing from last season and us yet to get a legend from the youth intake!

So up next transfers and season expectations, do you guys think i have what it takse to make another homegrown star like David ***, Mark Coughlan or Terry Ryan!​

So despite being recently promoted we are at least expected to finish in the top 4 and reach the Europa League qualifiers which may be a big ask but with my knowledge of the team prior to this save i think we can do it.

So there are so many free agents floating about who could improve the side but its not worth getting into debt and signing hundreds of players so i have brought in 3 new players for squad depth for now and will then probably bring the odd free transfer in during the season.

Tactic For Start of Season

So the tactic is pretty basic but it worked for me on my previous save, i will make slight tweaks when we play certain teams like going for counter attacking football against much better teams and maybe pushing a CM into the AMC role against some of the weak teams we will face in the cup.

So our first real problem was that first choice by a country mile striker Craig Curran has missed all of the first month through injury, We beat the 3 teams i expected to beat and had a good draw against the mighty Shamrock Rovers with the loss to Sligo Rovers the only real blip in an okay month

Means little at this early stage but i think 4th place should be easy for us with the likes of Derry City, Shamrock and Sligo the only teams likely to be better than us in the league at the moment.

Thanks for all this guys im raring to go tonight aswell both my little kids are in bed and i have 4 hours to play FM now and hopefully get most of the first season done, i started it up last night and it just felt right being back at Limerick i think i killed the fun in my Arsenal game after winning the league first season and then buying Suarez for ?45million. I look forward to playing the save and hoping i have even half the success and fun i had with last seasons save.

Dunno tbh. I asked W4NKER Skrill N/S or Ireland and he said Ireland so I went into the second division to see who was there. Longford Town was the #1 predicted team so i chose them :)

Cool, last year in the first division Limerick were 3rd favourites behind Waterford and Finn Harps so i didnt know if you would have picked one of them to start with, i only chose Limerick for the name last year, good luck with your save.

Aargh there is so many cup competitions in Ireland! Derry City equalized with seconds to spare to end our winning streak and then we just couldnt put the ball in the back of the net in the Dundalk game.

A terrible month in charge of Limerick as we throw away points left, right and centre and whats even worse is the 3 1-1 draws we were winning and conceded late goals down to either fatigue or poor concentration.

So all of those draws certainly didnt help but we are still in 5th place only a spot behind my start of the season goal of a top four finish.

Shouldnt take long to play the rest of the season now as most of the cup competitions draw to a close and the clubs without European football get quite a few days off.​

Only 3 games this month as we win, lose and draw with tough games against Derry City, Up next is the Munster Senior Cup Semi Final which we should really win.

4th is all we can expect really now as the top 3 have really started to push on from the rest of us but Shamrock Rovers have had a mare of a season and just sacked their manager.

Right after some recent dodgy form and so many draws i have spent a little bit of time tweaking the tactics and will be back on the updates tomorrow morning!
 
AWESOME! Glad to see this back again, I just love the name and logo of the club. I seriously hope you get a match-winner like David ***. He was one of the reason you continued the save as you wanted to see him retire?

I chose them on FM13 because they were the best team in the first division so the first season wasnt too challenging so i could get into the save, i chose them this year mainly because that story went on for 13 seasons!

I can only hope i get someone like David ***! I never got to see him retire as he was just turning 30 in the save but had become a club legend and the all time Limerick goalscorer and appearance maker. Im playing through August at the moment so should have the Youth Intake next month so i can only hope! Thanks for reading
