Macclesfield Town were deeply sadden to announce that manager Keith Alexander passed away on holiday just days before pre-season was about to start. A memorial service has been done in Alexander's honor at Moss Rose and one of the stands has been named is remembrance.

The successor to Keith Alexander is rookie manager Martyn Brown. Even though this is his first managerial job, the Macclesfield board feel that the rookie manager will do wonders for the club and take it forward.

August Update

Sorry this has been a long time coming. I have been on holiday and had internet
trouble so the delay in posting this has been excessive.

Results

Northampton Town 0 - 3 Macclesfield Town
Goalscorers: Bowman, Daniel x2
Report: Best start to the season I could ask for against a tough Northampton side and was thankful that
Adebayo Akinfenwa did not have his shooting boots today.

----------

Norwich City 3 - 0 Macclesfield Town - Carling Cup 1st Round
Goalscorer: ---
Report: A shambles of a display against Norwich so we made a sharp exit of the Carling Cup.

----------

Macclesfield Town 1 - 0 Notts County
Goalscorer: Brisley
Report: A good display against probably the best side in the division. The home advantage certainly home advantage played a huge part in this win.

----------

Macclesfield Town 0 - 3 Port Vale
Goalscorer: ---
Report: A bad result against Port Vale after a brilliant win against Notts County. The team were just appalling and rightfully lost by a big margin.

----------

Morecambe 1 - 1 Macclesfield Town
Goalscorer: Ritchie
Report: A good point away from home against Morecambe as both teams did not play at their usual best.

----------

Macclesfield Town 1 - 3 Rotherham
Goalscorer: Bowman
Report: Lack luster display against Rotherham even though we went a goal ahead but after then we fell apart.

League 2 Table

Not a bad start to the League 2 season. 2 wins against good teams then the let down of the losses as the
bitter pill. But will press on and gain more results in the coming matches.
