Hi i was wondering wether people have got any tips on re-negotiating contracts Im a lower league manager with port vale and trying lower some players wages but its difficult.Any help appricated

Offer them longer contracts, higher signing fees, higher agent fees and higher bonuses. Usually they will accept and it will work out alot cheaper in the long term.

Renew the older players as they would accept more readily lower wages.

When possible wait for the last moment to renew for those who are in their last year and don't seem to attract interest so they will accept lower wages.

Compensate lower base wage with higher per appearance/per goal bonuses if you don't expect that to raise the expense beyond the original demand.

Offer long contracts you aren't force to negotiate new inflated ones soon.

If your club is in financial trouble then you can have a private chat with the player and ask him to reduce his wage demands.
