Richest Club ever? Bank Balance > 1 Billion (1.000.000.000) and second new stadium?

In long-running careers at one club, at some point You have so much money You don't know what to do with it.
Instead of spending it on expensive players who ask for ridiculous wages and stall the development of the youngsters/wonderkids, I decided to try and raise a balance of 1,000,000,000 (in Ajax' case) euro's.

In my Ajax game on FM 2011, in season 2034/35 my balance for the first time exceeded 1,000,000,000 euro.
I had a new stadium built in 2021 with a capacity of 67 426, the 120M loan had been paid off after a few profitable seasons. I had cut down my payroll down to around 0.9M/week and made about 80M profit per year. Estimated value is now 1.89B. Taxes and Dividends are the main expenses.

My only real goals left in this career are club estimated value over 2B and to try and build a new stadium without taking out a loan to pay for it. Possible starting from 2041? (20 years new stadium rule?!)

Do other managers have similar long-running careers with a 'rich club', or paying in full for a (second) new stadium?

Cheers.

I don't play with a team for that long, but in fm11 I had a Real Sociedad save where I managed to have a balance of over 100mio after just a few seasons.

I usually play with teams until they are the richest in the world so they usually are always over 1 billion. I usually play with USD so it takes a little longer. Only one team have I ever gotten two stadiums with and that was last years game with an Iceland team. Second stadium was only around 45K seater.

amazing mate good luck in the future building another 6 stadiums

SHOW OFF LOL:p

i managed my arsenal save in fm11 to be worth 2 billion :D. then i turned the corner and trimmed the squad and staffs down, and its now just 150m

My Real Madrid team has an estimated value of £2 billion. It is 2028 though...

View attachment 232997 2nd new stadium. Not named after me and seats just under 100k, but in the end it only cost me 24M.

Should I go for a third?

While the development work is undertaken the club will share the stadium with Ajax at Pereira Arena? XD

Soon after hitting 1B, I got a message the board is making an investment of 350M (instead of maybe paying off the remaining loan);

I'm normally too impatient to play really long saves, but do clubs just pay off whole debts if they have enough money in the bank? Because the thought of having loads of money and not paying the loans off all in one annoys me.

how do you make that much money?

I keep wages low by paying higher agent fees versus lower wages. Saves a lot of money in the long run.

I try to always check each year on the most important regen dates (Jan 2, Jun 20, Jul 10 and Aug 1) and look for great regens you can sign for a few millions. The best ones stay at the club to be homegrown and the rest is loaned out, also bringing in lots of cash. Eventually you keep the best players and sell the rest, making loads of profit and with high asking prices and offering them with a 50% of next sale clause. This may bring in cash in the future and makes it cheaper to possibly buy back.

I quess it's a combination of low wages and steady transfer income.
I've had seasons in which I paid over 80M in taxes, by far the biggest expense, but with Merchandising
ranging from 70M to 90M per year evens that out.
I have two affiliated clubs to raise profile (USA, China) and I go on tours there in the pre season.
Don't know if that really boasts merchandising income, or that it's just triggered by havind high profiled players at your club.

This applies to my Ajax save. With Barcelona I just had a low payroll and made a shitload on tv revenue.

It really annoys me too having millions in the bank and a much smaller loan at the same time. On my long running Ajax save the board did once pay off a the remaining 6 years (about 25M) on a 15 years (about 42M) loan taken out on the new stadium. I was making loads of millions each year so it didn't make sense to have such a small loan and 400M in the bank.

Once you reach 1.2BN Pounds the club will put a few hundred million into a reserve fund incase the club ever goes bankrubpt. I currently have about £550M with Parma in 2026 and an 85k seater, waiting to try get another new stadium as this one is maxed out.

30th or 31st of December is also a golden date since you can sign Bosmans.
