ENGLAND hero Scott Parker was choked with emotion as he spoke about his finest performance in a Three Lions shirt.
It was his fifth cap and came just eight days after the death of his father, Mick.
The 30-year-old had insisted on playing for West Ham against Tottenham only hours after his dad had died and the time since has been very hard.
Just read this article on West Ham's Scott Parker (full article at the the bottom) and I was wondering what your views are on Parker?
In my opinion, Parker is a true professional, never moans, never puts himself in the limelight, he seems to be a great, modest person, and of course also an excellent player. The loyalty he shows to his club and fans is awesome and his talent and work rate is incredible. He is the type of player every team needs and wants. Very unfortunate not to have claimed more success and very unfortunate that sometimes his talent goes unrecognised, if only he was a few years younger.
This man should be a regular starter and Im sure he would be a starter if he was at a top 4 club. Moreover, I think he deserves the captaincy over the likes of Terry, as his motorvation and determination is undeniable, he also has a clean slate to his name whereas Terry... Well, you know. The fact that the Wales game earned him just his fifth cap is laughable.
However, even without the captaincy, he is still a true born leader. A few weeks ago he gave his West Ham troops a rallying half time team talk that helped his team pull back 3 goals to earn them a draw against West Brom (correct me if I'm wrong) which Carlton Cole described as 'tear-jerking'.
In my honest opinion, I think he is a top runner in the award for the player of the season, even if his team are near the bottom of the league, as no one can deny how fantastic he has been this season, he's performed in every game I have seen him in. Unfortunately, I do not think he will as the FA will give it to one of the big clubs players, this is something I think they should review.
The guy is a perfect role model, if there was more players like this in the english league, the game would have a much better name for itself.
So, what are your thoughts on the guy?
