Slow GUI

i seem to find this problem on every fm since 05 i have slow gui (graphical user interface)
and at times its been so bad that i have used a speed hack facility on a program called cheat engine to speed this up the only problem with that is when i click on drop down menu's in the game you have to hold down mouse button otherwise the menu goes in a flash here are the specs of my computer
os windows xp sp3
cpu amd phenom 9350e quad core cpu (2ghz)
graphics nvidia 8200
video memory 512mb
screen res 1024x768
ram 4gb
hdrive 416gb (151 gb free)

can someone please help me with this its most annoying

Have you tried updating your video card driver?

yes i have but already had latest graphics driver and because i had been getting annoyed with it i tried fm08 same problem then tried 05 same problem then tried cm0304 no problem so my question is this could it be the way they have coded the GUI since then.
