The tactic itself isn't all that important.
Have a look at your squad and figure out who your strong players are (don't use the Assistants star ratings; You learn nothing about the players or how to use them effectively). Once you've identified your Starting XI, find a system that allows them to utilize all of their strengths while protecting their weaknesses.
Got fast CBs; A high line could be useful.
Got slow CBs: A deep line will help keep them closer to goal so you won't get caught on the counter.
Got pacy wingers who're good at crossing: Exploit flanks.
Got pacy wingers but no tall target-man: Exploit flanks + Whipped crosses

My point, every tactic on the forum is designed to suit a certain style of squad. Plug and play is dead with the new ME's increased focus on player roles. Every tactic is utilizing the player roles to perform the tactical plan but unless you have players capable of playing in those positions effectively, you're shoving square pegs into round holes.
The better you know your team, the better your tactics will be.
