Doesn't it seem strange that in every new Football Manager game, you start out in either June or July and you already have all the new summer transfers? I guess this is the best way to do it since you can't start on September 1st since the league would have already started before that.
What I am suggesting is that there should be an option to start games without the summer transfers. That way you have the money you've earned throughout the fiscal year to buy new players for the summer and build up your "new team" however you want or manage to hold on to players you really like that were sold to other clubs in reality. Of course, players who were bought before the summer window would start in the game since the were purchased through pre-summer negotiations.
It would also be fun to check out all the players available for transfers or those who clubs want to lay off for whatever reason. The summer would then be a race for transfers between clubs.
