Carson Yeung in jail!

119yeung_468x602.jpg

Last night it was announced Carson Yeung was to be arrested under money laundering charges and all his assets must be sold off. These assets include Birmingham City Football Club and St. Andrews Stadium. In an attempt to make the club a more financial attractive prospect The FA has ordered the club to release all the staff connected to the club and in essence become 'extinct'.

“It's upsetting that it has come to this,” said an FA representative, “But we have to show that the Football Association and the Football League will not bend over backwards for any club” The FA have placed Birmingham City's former spot in the Npower Championship up for sale from any club, or individual that promotes the best offer.

Sports Interactive, most noted for the 'Football Manager' Franchise, has entered talks with the Football Association over the potential to create a new team to replace Birmingham City. A spokesman for the company was quoted as saying “This is a fantastic opportunity for us. We have been looking to get closer to the subject of the games we make and to think that this chance has come with such in massive league is incredible” There is thought to be a rival offer from a consortium of around 30,000 members of popular Football Manager forum “FM-Base”.

Breakthrough In Takeover Talks

It has emerged today that the two consortium's have joined in their bid to bring a new club to the Football League. Both bids were originally accepted, but Football League officials believed that the two deals combined could create a much more attractive club than they could individually. However, due to talks with the Football League, The FM-Base Consortium and representatives from Sports Interactive several stipulations were discussed and the talks have “rapidly progressed” according to one source.

Take Over Complete!

Today, a new team has sprang up in the Football League. FM-Base FC. Based in Birmingham, FM-Base will be moving into 'The Forum' a 40,000 seater stadium. Also announced at this time were the stipulations of the agreed sale. “This is an experiment of some sorts,” said Sofie Colbert, the new general manager of the club, “There has been a commonly held belief in football that if you want to be successful you have to spend obscene amounts of money. We want this to change.” Miss Colbert added, “Also this is the chance to show that fan input at the board room level works and can help a club succeed at the highest levels.”

The Stipulations:

  • [*=center] No manager may spend more than £50,000,000 on transfers in any one season
[*=center] The club must not be relegated in it's first season
[*=center] If the managers popularity with the fans and board falls to below 25% he or she must resign.

FM-Base FC announce David Morey as their new manager.

Mr Morey (25) made 5 appearances in goal for England from the bench until his career was ended by injury. This is Mr Morey's first none-playing role in football but he has the full backing of the board. General Manager Sofie Colbert said: “We trust David's vision in this matter. He impressed not only us, but a large amount of the fans that we showed his interview video to. He knows what's required and what his limitations are.” In his first press conference Mr. Morey seemed rather cagey on transfer dealings, refusing to say who he wanted, but he did say that he would be 'making changes from top to bottom' and 'bringing in his own staff'. Mr. Morey has scheduled his teams first pre-season match in almost a months time on the 5th of July against AFC Wimbledon. He also went on to say that he would not be holding any more press conferences until the day of the AFC Wimbledon match as he “has a lot of work to do”

FM-Base FC's Pre-Season Schedule:

  • 05/07: AFC Wimbledon (Home)
  • 08/07: Taunton FC (Away)
  • 13/07 Rangers (Home)
  • 18/07 Sports Interactive Cup Semi Final – AGF
