#mufc and #thfc to battle it out for the signature of goalkeeper Sam Johnstone in the summer. Johnstone won’t sign a new #wba contract, when it expires at the end of the season, as he seeks a return to the Premier League. Bruce said on Saturday he expects him to leave.

René Meulensteen was asked to become Erik ten Hag’s assistant at Ajax but had already committed to the Australia national team Managers job before hand. #MUFC

Official. RB Leipzig have signed Belgian talented goalkeeper Maarten Vandevoordt from KRC Genk. #RBLeipzig “The 20-year-old has signed a contract that will begin in 2024 and run for five years until 2029”, club statement confirms.

Erik ten Hag is now described as ‘satisfied’ by Manchester United’s plan to make important decisions together with him. He wants to work and develop a close relationship with Ralf Rangnick. That’s why he wanted a long-term contract. #MUFC

Robert Lewandowski wants to leave Bayern this summer. Meanwhile, Bayern are 'playing for time' and would not be against having him for another season before he leaves on a free. A meeting is planned at the beginning of May to find a solution [@Tanziloic, @RMCsport]

The imminent appointment of Erik ten Hag won't change Edinson Cavani's future at Man United. He's still expected to leave on a free transfer in June, with La Liga as possible next destination. #MUFC Jesse Lingard is also exploring and considering options on a free transfer. And is in talks with multiple clubs.

#mufc are setting up the framework of a deal for the Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips and are in talks with RB Leipzig forward Christopher Nkunku. Who Ralf Rangnick and Erik ten Hag are both a fan of. [Samuel Luckhurst, MEN]

Agents have been told that #mufc are looking for a striker, two central midfielders and a right winger. Focus will inevitably fall on head of recruitment Steve Brown to present viable targets. Talks are started over Darwin Núñez. [@lauriewhitwell]

Ten Hag has made approaches to sign Bergwijn in each of the last three transfer windows but Ajax's budget could not extend to Bergwijn's wage of more than £100,000 a week. [@Jack_Gaughan]

But it's not a logical move to make. You cant sign someone's reject who's deemed as not good enough and that someone is a better club than you. Maybe as a backup, since Bergwijn isnt that young anymore.

Sure, if the new manager want him then fine.

We don’t know if he’s not good enough or a club reject. Maybe it’s just a case of Conte not fancying him. He’s only just turned 24. If reports are true then ETH clearly fancies him if he’s tried to sign him a couple of times in the past.

The thing that’s encouraging me isbeing linked with players that would suit his system/style are a good age and are not super 80-100+ Fan pleasing signings.

Whitwall seems to think Nkunku, Nunez, Phillips, Timber and Laimer are ETH and Ralfs targets.
