Sunderland are taking a gamble on young manager George Davies- who spent 3 years at the club in a short career.
Davies, 35, spent 5 years at the Stadium of Light between 1998 and 2003- when he retired due to a knee problem.
Davies also had spells with Bolton, Crewe Alexandra and Blackpool in his career.

Bayer Leverkusen negotiate fee with Sunderland
Sunderland are a step closer to securing the services of Sidney Sam- after Leverkusen negotiated a fee rumoured to be in the region of 8.5 million.
Sam, 23, signed for Leverkusen last Summer from Kaiserslaurten.

Not too keen on multiple posts for something that could be done in one.
Maybe try and do 1 post per month of games, highlighting the big ones and going into more detail.
As for Sidney, if you play him as an IF, he should be good for Sunderland.

QPR 2-0 Sunderland
Disappointing defeat- didn't get it right at Loftus Road.

Had a few chances- but were well beaten.
Sunderland 2-1 Colchester
We held on due to good defence- we weren't brilliant though.

Defended well in the first half, but after half time, there was no contest.

Overall: Poor month, however, looking forward to the next month- I am confident we can get our game plan right and fight for victory.
