Has anyone else encountered any inconsistencies in player ratings on different saves?

Started with Arsenal and Rene Adelaide was a potential 3.5 star. Started another save with Arsenal after a while and he is now potential 4.5 star.

Also has occurred with players that i am scouting such as barbosa, werner, lucas romero, balanta etc.

Its like there's a random rating each time.
Ah a random beginner. In FM, most players under 21 have a variable potential. This means that the player's potential with change, every new database you load. For example, Reine-Adelaide is most likely a -9 potential player. This means that his potential can vary between 150-180. That gap means that in each save, the same player will have a different potential within the range.

Has anyone noticed that Chelsea try and buy every young English player in the game? In the first Summer they bought Callum Chambers and now they're trying to nab Phil Jones, Saido Berahino and James Wilson.

Chelsea signed John Stones on my save and if I go to his history/Chelsea's transfer history it says the deal was £46.5m, but if I go to Stones' 'Achievements > Transfers' it says £35.5m. Usually in a player's achievements it gives the full fee including future incentives. Is there a reason why this is the other way around for Stones?

Well i just like to say im really pleased with the game. Ok there could be more 'NEW' features but the amount of refinement and polish is more impressive than any possible new feature, and we're only at beta!!

It is just me or do players seem utterly obsessed with lofting balls into space. I mean I have a fullback with short passing, lowest tempo, less risky passes, surrounded by options, and he almost always chooses to do some Gerrard esque 40 yrd chip pass into the channel. Now that I've noticed it, everyone does it. My cb chipped a player who came to shut him down earlier!

So I want to have a wide AM for a 4-6-0 possession tactic. All I need is for him to be fairly neutral in a few things. More risky passes is not something you want in a strikerless formation or one with possession because the AI will often play the ball through the channel to no one. (so that's IF-support, and both AP roles out) Dribbling is not something I want going on too much because it often loses the ball (so that's IF-A and both winger roles out). I want him in the AM role, far enough forward without the ball to press the fullback and coming deeper when we have possession to receive the ball (which is raumdeuter and wide target man out). I literally cannot create a very simple, balanced role on the wing because all of the options are specialists of some sort. So he has to be bumped back to midfield in search of a role, except there are literally no options that work there yet again. The closest I can get is Wide Midfielder- Support but even then I'm locked into shooting more often, which again sucks for a possession tactic. And I'm then in a situation where I have to use the get further forward instruction to make him press the fullback, which in turn often stops him coming deep to receive the ball. I am genuinely baffled there is no neutral wide roles anywhere in midfield.

Very interesting to see that shooting more often has been locked into the role of a WM(S). I can understand if it is WM(A) but on support duty what does this serve? It does not make sense the more i think about it. On another note, CMs now no longer can be instructed to run wide with the ball. So that means no more central wingers for FM16 and future versions of FM=(

lol this is the first fm ive experienced such a massive differnce between saves - i'm going to venture a guess and say once the actual game is released, the differences will not be so great.

They'll be the same. And thats a good thing. Sometimes someone will be worldclass, but other times he'll be just good or decent. It adds a lot to its replayability value. But most of the well established players have fixed PA and CA.

To be fair, after a couple of hours into the game, it looks less bleak than it did right at the beginning of the beta. AMRL seem to profit hugely from the newly split "Cuts Inside From Left/Right"; for me, they're playing a more natural game than they did a couple of days ago, really. It looks that PPMs have more of an impact on the player's behaviour, which again enables us to merge roles more freely.

For example, I'm using Adnan Januzaj on AMR as a W/A. The boy is still hungry for assists, as Wingers are supposed to be, with currently 4 goals and 13 assists after 14 appearances on his tally. But he plays in a beautiful non-wingery way, working the edge of the box, looking for lovely diagonal through-balls into the center or wide out to his fullback, yet still attempting the occasional run into the channel without the ball when the opportunity arises. In '15, he'd be hugging the touchline and trying crosses with his rubbish right foot.

WM/A works better now as well, especially when playing possession-based. Beautiful passing play, they really work the ball up the pitch with their teammates in tow, without neglecting their surge into the box when being set up properly.

Anyone else conceeding a ton of penalties?

9 games in and i have conceeded 5. Had stay on feet and closing set to less since day 1

Im in my 3rd season now and I dont remember even conceding one! I must have somewhere, but not regularly.

Is it the same player giving it away? Do any of your players have the Dives into tackles PPM?

3 seasons already? That's some dedication, mate! lol

Nope, none of them have and i have just conceeded my 6th now.

Oddly 3 of them are from my player pushing an opposition player over at a corner. I say odd because 1) you do see them given in real life but not that often and 2) i think most penalties given at corners are from the culprit pulling back the opposition not actually pushing them over

Thoroughly enjoying this version so far, feels really refined, sleek and polished.. almost sexual . Only thing I've picked up with the ME is that there seems to be several bizarre offside decision given/not given. Every game myself and the AI suffers at least 1 decision. I have started a LLM save in League 2 so it may be the poor officiating. Anyone suffered anything similar?

I haven't experienced a lot of poor offside calls, but I have only played the top leagues though.

My only proper frustration with the match engine was conceding tonnes of goals from deep crosses / long passes from the flanks in the beginning. Once I saw one of those fly towards a target man I just knew that they would score. My center backs was in spectator mode. I partially solved it by removing some of their service on the wings, but it still happens from time to time.

Apologies if this has been talked about in the thread before (haven't read through the whole thing), but I'm about 6 months into a save with Fulham and I've constantly had 5-6 players with long term injuries. I know a lot of people complained about injuries in FM15, but I didn't have any issues. I've actually had far more injuries, and more serious injuries so far in FM16.

Is anyone else experiencing something similar?

Worst edition of FM released. I hope they make some major changes when the game is released as from the beta it is shocking. The tactics screen did not need to be touched but as pointed out from someone else they did for the sake of it. The whole create manager screen is just a joke. It looks like a Sims mode that was in it's infancy. There has hardly been any changes from the game last year just skin changes. As for tactics you can use a 4-4-2 formation and easily beat the match engine. Come on now it is 2015. This game is starting to feel like it should of been released back in 1995. Feels to me they are running out of ideas with the game now. Very dissapointed now and have been a fanboy of FM since it's first release. Very poor show from this Beta and I hope they improve it but can't see it. They need to get someone on board with fresh ideas. Miles needs to hand the baton over to someone with a fresh approach.

Arsenal have 9 injuries in real life with 6 being injured for a month or more. It's called bad luck.

Maybe so, but i've started a good 6 different saves since it came out and there is ALWAYS one long term injury (3 months or more)in preseason alone. Players also seem to indicate wanting to come off after most knocks. It's a little unrealistic.
