If the players dont respect your status as a manager or the clubs status in the football world, they will not playing to the best of their abilities. Also maybe you aren't the greatest manager at motivating your players during team talks, maybe try something different or get your assistant...
I play on a laptop and the graphics card is the main issue i have, If you enjoy gaming then invest in a laptop with a good graphics card as you cannot upgrade in the future.
If i were you though id spend that money on a new desktop mate, much more powerful than laptops unless you spend big.

Into my second season with Bridport and there is still no reserve or u/18 squad available despite my growing first team squad.
Will a reserve squad and u/18 be added when I am in a higher division? or am I stuck...

You can try pick up Moussa sissoko for around 10-15 and he is young and solid as or if you want to spend a bit more get Yann M'vila for around 25, he's so solid mate, great passer and also very strong defensively.
Hey mate i've had the same problem a few times, try closing steam and then restarting it, this has worked for me.

sorry if you have already tried...
finally after winning the league 6 times in a row with liverpool, the board decided to build a new stadium in my honour with a cost of 193mil pounds and anfield got sold for 46mil and the new stadium got a 100mil sponsorship deal.
Anyone else been lucky enough to get a stadium named after them?
