    The Alfa Romeo Metaphor

I've read through this whole thread over the last week or so, a really interesting and absorbing read thanks a lot for sharing. I was gutted for you at Cadiz but am now intrigued to see what will happen in England. Good luck!

    Rainmaker v2 and Silk & Steel v2 - Chelsea 96 points (1st) - Norwich 70 points (5th)

I have tried that but don't like it as it makes central midfield too narrow (in the standard formation the CM pushes the box 2 box midfielders wider). Also the AM doesn't contribute with defence as much so it loses defensive stability.

    Rainmaker v2 and Silk & Steel v2 - Chelsea 96 points (1st) - Norwich 70 points (5th)

I'm really enjoying these tactics thanks Rosler. For my team rainmaker works better than silkn'steel. One thing that I think needs improving is the defending of set pieces. 13 of the last 15 goals I have conceded have been from set pieces :@ When I want to go more offensive I replace the...

    High CCCs - Devastating Liverpool-esque Counter 4-5-1

Hello iamauser, nice tactic, I use a very similar one to your away tactic when I need to change things up during a game. In my tactic I have a HB(D) instead of the BWM(D) and both FB are on Attack. When defending the Half Back drops back into the centre of defence to effectively make a central...

    Mantorras77's Tactic Testing League

A suggestion to help improve the next (final) round of testing. Use IGE to set team morale to superb before every game. I believe a lot of the variance in results is due to the morale of the team dropping putting the team into a vicious circle of results. Morale is a factor that is not...

    Mantorras77's Tactic Testing League

The attribute changes in the next version of the database will help improve the results. However, I wouldn't expect the randomness of the results to improve with this method of testing though. This years FM2014 is A LOT better than previous years because the opposition AI manager adapts their...

    Vacationing To Test Tactics

It's a waste of time, the assistant manager will use the same formation, but will change all the player roles and instructions, and also adjust as they see fit during the match. The best way to test tactics quickly is to download a skin which includes the 'instant result' button from Football...

    Mantorras77's Tactic Testing League

An excellent change, thumbs up. I'm concerned that CA variance of teams is a bit high though, perhaps a spread of 160 to 200 with 180 as the testing team would be more appropriate? The only other improvement I would suggest is to divide the teams into Defending, Midfield, and Attacking players...

*edit* my mistake. nothing to see here move on.

    Mantorras77's Tactic Testing League

Good to see more tactics featured, thanks for the work. One of the things that concerns me is the huge swing in points between the AI managers. For instance sometimes Benitez comes in 2nd with 74 points, other times 14th with 44 points. A 30 point potential swing shows a worrying level of...

Tactic Testing FC (Test your Tactics Here)

If you run in vacation mode it will invalidate the test. The assistant manager will use the same formation but will completely alter the player roles and individual player instructions.

Tactic Testing FC (Test your Tactics Here)

Nice one, it's interesting that the results fairly closely mirror the tactic testing league results. Is the tested tactic facing a variety of different formations? If they are all identical teams then the tactic will face the same formation each match and the test won't be as rigorous. It may...

    Stupid New Guy Questions

I can highly recommend Guide to Football Manager | FM 2014 Guide which is pretty brilliant when you're starting out, and even later on when getting into the more obscure parts of the game.
