Not a guide, just "This worked for me so I will assume it works for everyone". No reasoning for your choices, no analysis, no thoughts from yourself on why you chose to leave most of it default and pick some rather silly shouts given your mentality and team shape.
People will follow this, will...
Yes. I have used a 3-1-4-2 with Middlesbrough and it produced great football and success.
The key is to have very hard working players on the flanks. I used ML/R instead of wing backs and if they weren't defensively capable I'd have conceded a lot of goals.
I usually kept all the CB's on...
If you want your striker ahead of our CAM's then you should change him to an attack duty.
With this formation (I've used it before, it produces wonderful football with plenty of goals) you need both of your CM's to sit and defend and allow your wing backs and front 4 to do the creating. Change...
Absolutely wrong on counter attack.
Every mentality will counter attack. In he ME a counter is initiated when you outnumber the opposition. So you are right to play a short passing game while having a counter mentality selected as you will keep the ball until the counter opportunity arises but...
Your team just sounds so unbalanced and generic, completely lacking any creative player to create chances and a forward who will be isolated.
You need movement from deep, you need to create overloads and overlaps. You're playing in straight lines and it's no surprise you are struggling.
Stop...
Sorry I know I am late but who on earth was supposed to be defending in that set up? You only had two defensive duties in your side and they were your two CB's!
Plus two CWB's when you have wingers both on attack just doesn't make sense. With the wide diamond you need a defensive role in the...
Maybe the fact you are not playing with wingers or wingers who are not going to track back is an issue? Crossing definitely is overpowered right now but I am not conceding a lot from it. I play 4-1-4-1 or a 4-4-2 and the wingers always track back and stop the full back from being overwhelmed...
You can't with AML/Rand even if he did they don't track back. Their aim is to win the ball high up the pitch and press the back four. No player in the AML/R will regularly track back.
To the OP, if you want wingers tracking back (not sure why you would with a 4-2-3-1 with players situated in...
Try the demo out!
It's a fun game. It has its issues (UI is horrible and very clunky to navigate around) but the ME has improved a lot (although crosses are OP) and they need to patch injuries. They are so frequent and players are injured months at a time, it's annoying.
But yeah, try the demo...
Lol you can't just put up a tactic and say download it without any background on your success etc. That tactic looks really bad, too many attack duties and not enough variation in attack.
Thing is, despite this being a good insight (although I question the need for tiki taka threads as we all know how to set it up and its use in modern football is useless) people (like the guy who plays as Deportivo) will fail because they do not have players capable of playing such demands. I...
You've set your team up to just have the ball in a very congested area of the pitch (the middle). You have two IF (which is not wrong) a BBM pushing forward, and an AP going forward so you have 4 (5 at times as the CF will drop deep) players trying to occupy the same space, add to the fact...
Formations mean nothing. The formation you choose is your defensive shape.
You can make any formation act in any way you want. You can make a 4-3-3 become a 4-2-4 or 3-4-3, you can make a 4-4-1-1 become a 4-4-2 or a 4-2-3-1.
I'd go with a formation that has ML/MR instead of AML/AMR because...
