Is it possible to create new team in the a league and for it to put it into the schedule or do you just have to edit old team there and change a few things?

proberly a stupid question but i followed the guides on creating a player did all my stats to 20 and then saved all good , go into the new game and my guy has only got about 5 stats at 20 rest r at 5, is there any way to fix this or cant you have full stats???
