no this isnt the case, once its downloaded i cant open it and its a strange file type, do i need to put it in a specific folder??

hello, im currently downloading patch 3 the newest patch. i have not downloaded a patch before so really dont know what to do?? what do i do once the patch has been downloaded in order for the changes to kick in?? CHEERS IN ADVANCE
