I have a personal rule to never start a match with team instructions preapplied. Only if assistant suggests something.

Demo used to work for half a season. I usually always download demo first, to see what I can expect. After trying 26, I don't feel like parting with my money ;)

I stopped buying fm after 17, for the same reason as OP, disgusted by UI design.
