Jonathon Cole and Oliver Nicholas as a free agent CB pairing. Both full internationals and will sign for any BSN or BSS team, and will last you well into League 1 if you play them enough to develop.

Brian Murphy is a great goalie at Bury (League 2). Not much scope for performance but he's good for most Championship sides. Zeki Fryers from Man Utd is quality aswell. He develops fast if you stick by him.

The in-game 'Asymetric' formation with combined with 'control' works great for me as a backup when I'm struggling for form. If you're getting hit a lot aswell a counter attacking strategy could help.
