This "another factor" is called stupid FM19 match engine which can produces matches where you have 50 chances but you score 0 goals and your opponent has 1 chances but he scored 1 goal and you lose If you play FM19 then from times to time you will encounter such matches and you have to accept...

Probably, you've got such impression because you greatly overachieved with the previous versions due to some extreme luck but your team isn't that good to deliver such results on a regular basis and even with V5... you should adjust your expectations according the qaulity of your team
