I'm completely baffled that some league 1 side hasn't come calling for an interview, with that kind of turn around. Excellent season, and good luck with finding a better paying job in a higher league.
I usually pull out players that ratings fall below 6.3 for more than 10 minutes. I also keep an eye on their stamina, when they get in the mid 60s I really consider swapping them, if they've got a good backup. If we've got week with multiple matches in the same week, or a quick turn around...
I always start my careers out in the lower rungs and work my way up. Biggest problems I have is inconsistent players, and bench depth (usually because budgets are so small). I usually get loan players from the U18 - U23 teams in the higher leagues to fill gaps. Plus most times the clubs will...
If he's your only option there, you may want to get a youngster on loan from league 1 or 2 team as a rotation. You'll find, especially with players getting a bit older, wingers need rested every so often, or you may need to sub him if he's having a bad day on the pitch.
Sorry it's been so long since my last post, but it will be even a bit longer before the story progresses, my dog knocked my laptop off the desk and shattered the screen so I don't have my history available to continue updating. Soon as my new screen comes from amazon I'll get back to updates.
Impressive wins over Chattanooga. I don't mind telling you I'm not a fan of them as they've knocked my Athletics out of the playoff race for the last 3 years running. Good luck on the next season

Well I had high hopes and belief in my team, but a lackluster defense couldn't stop any break away. And the few chances we did create were shot so far wide I'm thinking of having Billy Bricknell's eyes checked. I'm glad I sent my boy into the stands with a...
Away at Mildenhall was the first friendly scheduled. I decided to stick tot he plan of playing defensively and it was a decidedly droll match that ended scoreless after ninety minutes. Well, we're getting used to each other and getting back in shape for the season, so I'll let it slide, at...
Anybody having issues with this tactic on lower league teams in the rain or at away games. I've dropped 4 games in a row that were either away or rainy. Still creating about a dozen shots a game (unless up against a much better team) just losing in the last minutes.
First day on the job was a bit of a whirlwind. After getting out of the office and catching the train to Chelmsford I met with the staff that was already there when they hired me. The assistant manager seems capable, but the Director of Football, who is a nice enough guy, doesn't seem to see...
I started coaching soccer (football) when my son began playing as a child in our local youth recreational leagues. As he grew, I took more coaching courses, and soaked up being on the side of the pitch during games, calling out instructions and reminding the boys what we had been working on in...
Well, regardless of what I set my CMs and FBs duties I still ended up having both CMs red carded in one game. Guess it's composure training for them. On a side note, changing the FB duties did result in losses until I switched them back.
