Just a little idea for FM14 that could aid possession

If you are playing with very attacking fullbacks and AML/AMR that have pretty good stats for tackling, try: CF on runs into channels. AML and AMR to roam from position and cut inside. AMC to roam from position and hug touch line. --------- CF and AMC to "swap positions" AML and LB to...

Just a little idea for FM14 that could aid possession

In FM 2013, if your playing as Barcelona and 4-2-3-1 ----trying putting your: ---------- CF on runs into channels. AML and AMR to roam from position and cut inside. AMC to roam from position and hug touch line. --------- CF and AMC to "swap positions" AML and AMR to "swap positions"...

Arrigo Sacchi's 4-4-2: High Pressure, Attacking Tactic for Top Teams and Underdogs

Nice one. I'm gonna try it out but do you ever find that your strikers are isolated because your midfield is deep? .. seeing as you play with DM's..

    Pressing & Restricting Space

Yeah the right 'balance' is what I'm searching for... :P Ohhh btw I'm gonna give a few things said a test on FM 2003 and see how it goes/posts my results - I thought it will interesting to play around with different 'width' and 'defensive line' settings plus 'mentality' and 'pressing'...

    Pressing & Restricting Space

I understand that yep. As I said the hunting in packs/forcing type pressing is best when players are very close to each other. Here's some examples; Sacchi and Milan... Arrigo Sacchi ACMilan defensive - YouTube The 6 second rule... How Barcelona Players Get The Ball - The 6 Seconds Rule -...

    Pressing & Restricting Space

So is there a way of getting your team to switch between "pressing" the opposition and "pressuring" the ball carrier? Whilst being mindful of "consolidation" of the teams shape/positioning (we you need to compress, when you don't..). I suppose what I want is to be able to press certain players...

    Arrigo Sacchi's Shadow Football

I'd be interested in how you got your marking set up, I've gone for a mix of zonal marking and man to man for my attacking midfielders so they track back and do their defensive duties. I wanted my attacking midfielders make as many tackles per match (it didn't matter the success rate of said...

    Arrigo Sacchi's Shadow Football

Yeah that sounds about right, also I'm not sure if you have/if you haven't and it's works well forget what I say but Gullit should be on the more defensive setting so he drops deep to get on the ball/helps out with defensive duties...... anyways I'm currently finishing a save on FM 2011 with...

    Arrigo Sacchi's Shadow Football

    Arrigo Sacchi's Shadow Football

I'd say looking back, it was almost a 4-4-1-1 but it was known to be a 4-4-2 back then. Ruud Gullit wasn't a typical striker and took up spaces in between the lines/the oppositions back four and midfield. Van Basten, now he was a deadly striker and was the 'finisher' of the two.

    Arrigo Sacchi's Shadow Football

"You don't have to be skilled to play a high line." "Arrigo Sacchi's 'shadow football' method didn't use a football just team work and co-ordination." I've always read about Arrigo Sacchi, both his methods and generally philosophy of the game. His Milan team pressed the opponents in their own...

An [Amateur] Tactician's Chalkboard for FM11

I'm new to this forum and the only reason I joined was because of this thread, there is some great writing in it... anyway, on another forum that's football related we been talking about football tactics from a managers stand point and everything that has anything remotely related to it even if...
