Experienced the same. In my third season with Sociedad and bought Costa from Atleti. Even he doesn't produce at times but I found that it helps if you praise him when he scores and tell him to keep up his form. Also critisise your strikers if they haven't scored for a while.

I developed the second season syndrome somewhere around late December and started using this tactic.
In my second season with Sociedad and I overcame a 4:2 first leg defeat against Barca, winning 3:0 at home.
Also won the Champions League final 1-0 against Tottenham, finished 3rd in the league...

I am play Real Sociedad and have been using this for away games and tougher home games, for example vs Lyon, Atletico, Galatasaray. And I even managed a 2-1 win at the Camp Nou.
I had to change my tactic now that I am in my second season and first seasons tatics just wouldn't work.
I started using Danilo, scoring loads of goals but leaking some as well. Marking isn't fully fluid yet, maybe it's down to that - or should I use the 'Danilo tight'?
This tactic just worked wonders before 14.3 - now my Dortmund side struggles to get points away from home.
