Decided to re-try this tactic for a season with Exeter City for a whole season, and Southamption for half a season, and unfortunately results have been less than impressive :(.
Exeter finished with W20 D12 L14 (F89 A74), while Soton are currently at W12 D4 L7 (F42 A27).

Used this tactic as Exeter City (L1) and was awesome in pre-season; beating Burnley 4-3, Wigan 1-0, and Liverpool 2-1, without any real class signings, so was looking forward to what results it would produce in the league!
