I would not advise running Windows7 with 1GB of memory. You will have a sluggish & slow experience, especially when running FM2011. It's possible but not recommended. To be honest with 1GB of memory, XP is your best bet. What problems are you currently having with XP?

Certain Linux operating systems are free whereas fully supported versions are not.

As far as I know, FM2011 does not support Linux therefore you will encounter problems.
