Has football manager ever forgot players histroy ? If so is there a way to fix it.

The weirdest thing happened with this guy he turned 33 he stats started to go down and his ratings and somehow that is when he decides to gain a worldwide reputation bare in mind he has not won any awards. So I was wondering what exactly effects the reputation of a player ?
