I assume "a hundred tactics" is a bit exaggerated ;), but don't switch tactics every match. Players need to get used to new tactics, so I might take some time before he starts scoring again. Give it a few matches.

They're 2 different type of players imo. Atleast in my save, playing as Valencia, I have Maia. I use him as a DM-BWM(S). Cubas plays for PSG in my save, but looks more like a DLP. Both are quality, though.

I usually try to get a precentage of the next sale / profit aswel included in the deal. Even if the buying club isn't likely to sell the player, your board might negotiate with the club and let them sell the clause, bringing in a few extra mil.
Anyway, how much was this striker of yours valued...
No, I would wait and see how he develops. He might be worth that kind of money in the future, but too much of a gamble right now.
