Got to disagree. In the 1st season I used him as DLP(S) and he was fantastic. He had an average rating of 7.6 and he took some points on his own when the team was struggling. In 2nd season I use him as B2B and he performs the same if not better (it is still early though, I got to wait to extract...
How??
In my Chelsea save he was priced at €75M and I signed him for €122M (+13M extra). First time since FM10 (when I started playing the FM series) I spent so much for one player, but he is totally worth it.
Jonathan Calleri is very good and quite cheap if he is still playing for Boca. I signed him for my Chelsea team in the 2nd sesaon and so far he scores almost in every match.
The only complaint I have is about the keepers. I play with chelsea and I still have both Cech and Courtois and in powerfull shots they get stuned, they are unable to catch the ball and they just wait for the opposition players to tap it in. I rarely see double or triple saves which you would...
+ They stop the ball with their feet way more than RL and in DFKs the move sideways from one post to the other(it is like they are sliding) and block the ball, which I dont think I have ever seen in real life.

I believe it has to do mostly with your players determination. The way I see it, they need to be determined to be victorius, even if the enemy team is fighting back very hard. But, unless you have the enemy team pinned down the whole game and they have 0 shots, you MUST make tactical changes...
I usualy have a woodwork issue in away games with the bottom table teams in my chelsea save. I just use high tempo attacking formation with shot on sight and out of 15-20 shots on targer 2-4 will be goals. I am guessing that with a weak team this would not be a solid solution and a counter...
If you know how to play (or you are willing to learn how) then it's good and you should buy it. If you throw eleven players on the field and expect to win trophies then stop playing FM. It's only natural for a program to have bugs and truth be told fm15 has some, but overall it's a great game...
I like to keep only the key players, the icons and HG. The rest of the squad at some point in the first 3 seasons will departure for the right value of course
