Allowing that many miedfilders to run from deep never worked for me in fm2011.Especially the CM's.I always use DLP-support and CM-defend.If I don't have a DLP,I set the MCa's runs to rarely.This way the other players have passing options Regarding the wingers,I use one on support and the other...

I don't use other people tactics,I have downloaded a few in the hope of finding some answers but everybody uses inside forwards and fast strikers.

I've played Dzeko too and he scored alot,but not because of his heading ability.That's why I tried with not so skilled strikers

Well Crouch didn't score because he headed the ball back to VDV most of the time.Maybe it's hard to score that way but that doesn't stop a big man like him to challenge for alot of balls inside the penalty area.I just can't make that happen in fm.

I disagree,he's the definition of a complete striker,especially at the level u're playing at.Try using crouch,carroll,zigic,k.davies,etc in the premier ligue.Hitting through balls to this guys is a waste of time.

this formation is extremely narrow,nobody crosses,wingers cut inside and almost every player hits through balls for a lone striker who definitely must be a fast one.It's the exact opposite thing that I would like to play with some succes.

Well that's a "false nine" setup getting the best of inside forwards.It's like TM supporting a poacher.What I really want is a simple number nine.

I've seen the AI using Necid in Premier League as a lone striker and winning the golden shoe.But I think it was 11.1 or even 10.3 :p

I think it's the marking system.In order to have some succes with crosses you have to "hide" players.WB-AMC has some succes if you have the right players,something like Baines-Cahill.The question is how do you "hide" winger-TM combo.

Yeah,I've browsed around to find some inspiration,tried tweaked roles like "modern TM" or TBH's roles but eventually they're only good at bringing into play fast strikers and cutting inside wingers. I hope I'm wrong and someone who disagrees notice this thread.

That's weird.I don't like 3D mode so I didn't noticed that.

@Montanaro I agree,but that's not the point of this thread.I simply can't get that kind of striker to hit any kind of ball in the box.No mather how I set him up or the rest of the team,crosses fly from side to side or any other area beside his position.Now please don't tell me I shoud instruct...

I see your point but that way the AMC will break ahead of him and become the striker at the end of the team's move.I want the big guy to be the main striker,"be there" always,scoring from crosses,rebounds,etc.

@Montanaro I know what stats to look for,that's not the problem.Getting that lone striker to score from the penalty area is.With patch 11.2 I was scoring quite alot like that using an attacking target man and 2 supporting wingers while playing 4231.Something has changed in 11.3

@BeadSTARR that's not what I was asking,I am bored of hitting trough balls to a fast striker,resulting in an unrealistic amount of CCC and goals
