I've just tried this tactic for one season with 3 different underdog teams and I have got some pretty good results from it so far.
The first being with Haverfordwest in the Welsh premier league, media prediction 12th out of 12 teams, I finished 3rd and won the play-offs for EURO cup...

Just thought I had to share this goal, I trained Hakan Çalhanoglu as a striker and he's been outstanding for this tactic!
He was just as effective on the RW as the LW. I had the wingers to switch regularly throughout the game as both were natural either side.
I found he was brilliant at initiating counter attacks from defensive corners/free-kicks, due to his pace and dribbling.
Eriksen was good, Lamela was terrible. I bought Sterling and played him LW and Lamela changed to inside forward on the right. I put Eriksen in central midfield with Paulinho which got the wingers playing superbly!
Paulinho's been on fire with tactics 10.0, 10.2 and 10.3 with loads of his goals coming from corners!
It's not even like Paulinho is a great player, he's got pretty average attributes, if I were to sign a world class CM it could be a whole lot better!
I'm pretty sure it was the tactic due to using other tactics with the same team on other saves and doing awful.
I only transferred in maximum 3 players over the summer.
Funny that, I found the tactic especially good against the big clubs by just changing it to 'counter' and doing nothing else...
