could be a number of things. My first thought would be to make sure you've got your stuff backed up. Then you could try reinstalling windows/factory reset. If the blue screen is still an issue after that then it's probably a hardware problem.

might be worth checking RAM usage. I had a macbook pro for work last year and the thing was nearly unusable with 4GB of RAM, had to upgrade it to 8GB. I was using ~6.5GB of ram and when I had 4GB it was sending data between the RAM and hard drive so much it just ground to a halt.

GHz speeds are not really a good measure of processor speed. For example we've had 2 to 3 Ghz cpu's for years but they are a lot faster now. although it means game requirements are very tricky. If you're worried about opening the game and not being able to return it why not download the demo...

Reo-cooker was a great free signing for my game, so was craig gordan as a backup keeper. Lots of "he should be dropped from scotland" but he has never complained about being benched for 2 seasons now.
