Having a transfer budget of ?33m, spending ?22m, leaving circa ?9m in the bank - once agent fees etc deducted - before a couple of days & a player sale later, going down to circa ?2m! Why?!

Some of the responses I'm reading completely contravene the 'Manager ' part of Football Manager. Miles has said repeatedly that the only aspects you control are those that come under the manager's jurisdiction, so not stadium redevelopment or sorting out commercial partners from the world over...
