for starters if you are having trouble on defense you can always change you're match preparation too defensive positioning( although its debatable how much this actually works) also setting all you're defenders to zonal tight marking helps a lot.

you can set you're whole midfield to one tick below whole pitch pressing, it keeps you're midfield from dragging out of position when pressing, works best when you use it for you're whole team.
