Your left winger will do fine on the forward left position, try to change his role to "Winger" instead "Inside Forward" without swapping. There's also a chance you can train him to a new position as a striker, he'll develop the new position faster if you play him in the new position quite often.

I only have this problem at pre-season matches no matter what roles I implement for the three forwards.
