A 4-2-3-1 based tactic with a left sided midfield bias.
One ball playing defender in the backline to distribute from the back with the other based on defending. Left back is a wing back on support to help with the attack while the other is an inverted wing back to help in midfield.
Midfield has a support box to box player to help in both parts of the field and a mezzala in support to occupy the space left by having the #10 role be right sided. Didn't want to commit to mezzala on attack to leave a gaping hole in midfield.
Two inverted wingers on the flanks to cut inside and an advanced forward to be the focal point. #10 role is an attacking midfielder to act like an Advanced playmaker just without the "shoot less often" instruction.
Been working a treat for me getting lots of wins in a newly promoted division.
