Make the right choice and turn your disenchanted players into blood-thirsty, dominant, rampaging berserkers.
I've been making tactics for over 13 years - this one is by FAR my most successful and hands down best.
I win every trophy, every season. My striker gets European golden shoe every season. I've broken goal scoring records, I've lost no matches in the league - with the right tweaks and players, you will DOMINATE.
Underneath I will write recommended players and things to do to make sure this works for you.
PLAYER ROLES AND RECOMMENDATIONS:
- GK
For this, I've never really found a "bad" GK for this role. Someone with good passing will help immensely, but if you've played this game long enough, you know what to look for in a good keeper. Prioritise the keeping stats, if you can get a good passer.
- LB/RB
This is simple, prioritise crossing, tackling, marking, stamina and pace. As FM veterans know, the mental stats have to be there too, doesn't have to be in abundance though. Your full backs in this tactic are some of your best chance creators after the attackers, but they do not neglect their defensive duties. A couple of examples for players great in this role are Andy Robertson, Pedro Porro, Milos Kerkez etc.
- CB
They are ball playing, so they have to have at least semi decent passing. Of course, you need those dominant CB stats though (marking, tackling, heading, positioning) and it's vital to have decent pace, anything over 13/14 in both acceleration and pace is even better. You want some strength and again.. those mental stats. If they are tall (6'3+) even better again.
- CDM
The LEFT CDM is your main box to box type, get the tackling guy in there, the one who is the jack of all trades, he's your workhorse, imagine a Gini Wijnaldum type or Lewis Cook to a lesser extent.
The RIGHT CDM (DLP) is your main passer that connects defence to attack and everything in between, your heartbeat. It goes without saying, prioritise passing and vision. He is still a DM, so it helps to have good tackling too. You wanna get dribbling and those mental stats. But again, get the passing, vision to the top of that list.
- CAM
Your AP (advanced playmaker). As well as crafting a lot of chances in attack, he is also a great source of goals. Imagine a Cole Palmer or Coutinho type, great passing, but also has that finishing in his locker. Passing is vital, along with vision. Dribbling is only better, with of course finishing if you want goals from that source too.
- LW/RW
As well as your striker, your main goal threats. Pace is definitely great here, as well as dribbling. Try to get both crossing and finishing in there, when you choose your player try to imagine Mo Salah or Hudson-Odoi. One thing I noticed makes these even better, if they are tall. They bang in a surprising amount of headers from crosses to far post in open play, one player that excelled at this is wonder kid Shaqueel van Persie. They are inside forwards, so of course left foot on RW is better (though not vital) and right foot on LW.
- ST
Best till last, your absolute goal scoring machine. I will be quick and simple with this, you already know finishing and off the ball is vital here, if you can get dribbling too that's great. But two things that can make them go from good to GREAT are pace and height. If you can get a Benjamin Sesko type, a fast big boy, he'll be scoring all types of goals and will easily end up with golden boot, make sure to put him on penalties too.
I am sure all of you have played FM heavily anyway, so I don't need to go into detail for the rest, just make sure you keep them fit, rotate your squad in cup matches and use subs wisely.
I'd give it at least a few in-game months before seeing consistent results, keep the tactic in all three slots so they adapt faster and make sure you get those chemistry lines green between at least a few players.
